As my release date gets blown about by supply chain issues, I’ve started to think about the publication of A Song Called Home as a three-act play. If Act I was the pre-order campaign timed to the original publication date of 2/22/22, I’m thinking of the present moment as Act II.
The stage is set (publishing in late pandemic!), the story has been established (I have a book coming out…soon), and the characters introduced (me and my book 👋). Here in the second act, we’re supposed to give those characters lots of obstacles to overcome and send them on an emotional journey. Done and done!
While we await the denouement of the physical book actually shipping (on 3/15!), we get to continue to *build anticipation*! To take part in this exciting phase, you can:

My friend Corey Ann Haydu will join me, and you’ll be able to order signed, personalized copies of my book if you like!
Read this interview I did with Publishers Weekly about writing during the pandie, pivoting to middle grade, and my devotion to realism.
